Babyshambles - Marktplatz, Germany - Review - 29/7/2014
LÖRRACH. Good, some very good concerts, contented, partly enthusiastic audience, a few new tones in this festival-and a good overall public response - these are the key factors that shape the impression of the Marketplace concerts of the "Voices" festival this year . Also Festival boss Markus Muffler shares the generally positive assessment: "We are satisfied."
Of course, the dramaturgy of the central part of "voices" that actually this year was also in the middle of the festival lies not solely in the hands of the organizers. The Elton John concert that was planned last year and canceled due to illness, was set as the deadline. Nevertheless, it has proved to be an advantage equal to start with this high point in the five-day marketplace series. The fact that after nearly sold out stint of British superstars same the only sold-out concert was followed by the BossHoss appearance, has the Marketplace concerts also done well. Babyshambles and The Hives then served on Friday and Saturday, a specialized public and Nneka yesterday evening provided the stage once again a rather unknown artist. The fact that she was booked for the large marketplace presence and not for the Rose Rock Park, has, according to festival director Muffler to do with the difficulty of finding between WM and holiday ever locate attractive artist at the attractive days.
